AluK Europe 2026: Growth, Proximity and Resilience

AluK Europe 2026: Growth, Proximity and Resilience

In 2026, the European construction market continues to be shaped by transformation, opportunity, and rising expectations. In this context, AluK is reinforcing its role as a growth-focused partner, committed to delivering value through strong local presence, aligned operations and empowered teams across Europe.

In this interview, Steven Helsen, Head of Europe & Operations, shares his perspective on key market trends, outlines AluK Europe’s strategic priorities for the year ahead, and explains how growth and proximity remain at the heart of the company’s strategy.

From your perspective, what are the key trends shaping the European market in 2026?

Steven Helsen:

The European market continues to evolve around a few very clear drivers. Sustainability is no longer a differentiator; it is now the baseline expectation. Demand across the region is increasingly shaped by renovation, energy performance, and long-term building value.

At the same time, proximity has never been more important. Customers are looking for partners who understand their local context, respond quickly, and maintain a close proximity to their operations. This shift is structural rather than temporary, and is evident across multiple European markets.

Finally, operational resilience has become a true competitive advantage. Companies with strong supply chains, flexible production and the ability to navigate volatility are gaining an advantage. At AluK, we prioritise consistency and speed – two qualities that are clearly valued by the market.

What are AluK Europe’s key strategic priorities and initiatives for 2026?

Steven Helsen:

In 2026, our focus is on simplifying, aligning and accelerating the way we operate, always with the goal of being closer to our customers and their needs.

We are strengthening the connection between our European business units, streamlining our product offering, and reinforcing our operational setup. This enables us to work with greater scale and clarity, both internally and for our customers.

Alongside this, we are launching initiatives aimed at reducing lead times, improving product consistency, and enhancing the overall service experience. Equally importantly, we continue to invest in our people. Sustainable growth comes from empowered teams who are close to the customer and aligned behind a shared vision – and that is precisely what we are building.

How will AluK continue to differentiate itself in Europe in an increasingly competitive market?

Steven Helsen:

Our differentiation can be summed up in two words: growth and proximity. Customers work with AluK because they know we stand beside them and think with them, rather than thinking for them.

We combine in-depth technical expertise with practical, hands-on support and a genuine interest in our customers’ success. At the same time, we are developing innovative solutions that are easier to fabricate, more efficient and aesthetically appealing, while also aligning with the future needs of the construction market.

Our strength ultimately lies in our collaborative approach: transparent, ambitious and grounded in long-term partnerships. Our commitment to staying close, delivering consistently and growing alongside our customers is what truly sets AluK apart.
